The Leonora Carrington Series – Coming to Brighton Fringe Festival 2025

In the final week of Brighton Fringe Festival (28th May-1st June), the Regency Town House will be taken over for one week by The Writer’s Mark to celebrate the life and legacy of the enigmatic artist and writer of short stories – the extraordinary Leonora Carrington (1917-2011) – painter, artist, sculpture and writer.

As time passes, more works and stories are being shared about the female surrealists – and Leonora was an autonomous force in her own right, born in Lancashire England she rebelled against her family, and remained her authentic self – no longer Prim, but Leonora – the artist who is celebrated in Mexico where she spent the latter years of her life and now internationally in more recent exhibitions. The Writer’s Mark wanted to pay homage to her legacy, by creating work inspired by her life.

The Regency Town House (Brighton), will be open for The Brighton Fringe Festival from Wednesday 28th May to the 1st June. Set up will be Monday 26th May.
